HP announced the availability of the HP Designjet 10000s Printer, a new low-solvent(1) super-wide-format printing system that produces durable high-quality signage up to 264 cm wide. The new printer, the widest in the HP Designjet line, is compatible with raster image processing (RIP) programs from leading vendors for quick integration with existing large- and super-wide-format workflows.
Capable of printing 16.35 sqm/hr, the HP Designjet 10000s prints eye-catching signs, banners, billboards, wall murals, and window and vehicle graphics with vivid colours in resolutions up to 720 x 720 dpi. Users can broaden the span of applications they produce and provide more options to customers, all while printing on economical uncoated media for lower running costs and greater return-on-investment.
Equipped with a sophisticated media handling system, the HP Designjet 10000s Printer enables dual-sided, dual-roll printing as well as printing on unlined mesh, providing users with the increased productivity and value needed to help enhance profitability.
Productivity is the name of the game
The HP Designjet 10000s Printer achieves high productivity with six heavy-duty Piezo printheads, 1000ml HP 790 ink cartridges, and “hot swap” ink cartridge capabilities that enable cartridges to be changed without interrupting a print job. When combined with a new super heavy-duty Take-Up Reel supporting rolls weighing up to 110Kg, two preloaded rolls for side-by-side printing, and the optional 264 cm high-speed dryer(3), the HP Designjet 10000s can produce long, unattended print runs at maximum print speeds.

• Speeds of 16.35 sqm/hr at 720 x 720 dpi, 20 sqm/hr at 540 x 720 dpi, and 30 sqm/hr at 720 x 360 dpi
• Creation of durable, affordable prints that resist scratches, cracks and smears, even using economical uncoated media such as HP Universal Scrim Banner, without lamination(2). Outdoor media portfolio also includes HP Premium Scrim Banner, HP Premium Backlit Film, HP Premium self-adhesive Vinyl and HP Universal Photo-realistic paper.
• Excellent lightfastness for the printing of outdoor signage that resists fading for up to three years(2)
• Optional Onyx® PosterShop ® 7.0 RIP for HP Designjet Fast data transmission with an easy-to-use USB2.0 connection
• Optional HP Air Purifier System designed to reduce workplace VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in demanding production environments(3)

On top of the optional Onyx® PosterShop ® 7.0 RIP for HP Designjet, HP is also announcing that several industry-leading RIP developers have created compatible solutions for the HP Designjet 10000s Printer, enabling users to choose the optimal workflow scenario:
• Caldera Graphics VisualRIP and CopyRIP: Committed to support the complete range of HP printers, Caldera’s VisualRIP and CopyRIP offer maximum productivity, integrated print-to-cut workflow, distributed architecture, easy ICC profile creation with EasyMedia. The products also include exclusive features such as CostProof and CostView, the new complete cost and price calculation system dedicated to wide format printing activities.
• ColorGATE PRODUCTIONSERVER4.31: The fourth generation of one of the most flexible and productive software products for digital high-end, large-format prints, PRODUCTIONSERVER4.31, offers colour management for high-quality applications in an automation-capable, modularly expandable solution. New features include support for the HP Designjet 10000s and its dual-roll printing feature, as well as a new EXPRESS PROFILER module for accelerated creation of ICC profiles.
• EFI Colorproof XF: EFI’s powerful RIP software, Colorproof XF, offers speed, high productivity and exceptional colour quality for higher volume, tight-turnaround, ICC-colour managed printing. An easy and clear user interface makes daily work more effective, while advanced production features such as step and repeat, tiling and colour adjustments provide another boost in efficiency.
• PosterJet RIP: The PosterJet RIP enables the versatile possibilities and new technologies of the HP Designjet 10000s Printer to be employed at their full their capacity for superior ease-of-use and outstanding productivity. PosterJet is the only professional RIP-solution with a true client/server architecture, which allows the user to work completely remote from the HP Designjet 10000s Printer.
• SA International: SA International (SAi) has created new output drivers and ICC Profiles specifically to support the new HP Designjet10000s Printer to provide high productivity and quality colour. SAi’s PhotoPRINT 5, FlexiSIGN-PRO 8 and FlexiPRINT & CUT 8 products are all designed to produce vibrant colour on the new HP printer, plus, they include ICC profiles and are powered by a genuine Adobe 3 RIP engine for speed and reliability.
