The Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on Tuesday appointed the country's first female government minister, the official Qatar News Agency said.
Sheikha Bint Ahmed al-Mahmoud was named minister of education, succeeding Ahmed bin Khalifa al-Mansouri. Al-Mahmoud has held several posts in the Education Ministry, and was last undersecretary. (Albawaba.com)
