British Formula One driver Jenson Button, of the Honda team, will draw the winning ticket for the Durrat Al Bahrain grand prize package worth US$600,000/-.

The draw for the grand prize, which includes a speedboat, a Lexus 470 luxury 4-wheel drive vehicle and an exclusive waterfront villa in the landmark Durrat Al Bahrain project, will be held on Wednesday, 8 March 2006, live on Bahrain Television Channel 44, at 7.30pm.

The grand draw will be preceded by a draw on Monday, 6th March 2006, to select 10 finalists for the grand prize package. This draw will also be held live on Channel 44 during the Bab Al Bahrain programme, which airs from 6pm to 6.30pm. Durrat Al Bahrain will contact the 10 finalists, who will be present in the BTV Studios for the grand draw on Wednesday.

Mr. Button will appear live on the show to draw the winner for the biggest prize ever to be given away in Bahrain. The show will be hosted by well known Bahrain TV presenter Haitham Shroogi.

“We are delighted that racing ace Jenson Button, who is a homeowner in Durrat Al Bahrain, will do the honours in the giving away of the grand prize to a lucky contestant. The winner will become an exclusive member of the Durrat community and enjoy the unique lifestyle the development offers,” said Mr. Jassim Al Jowder, Chief Executive Officer of Durrat Al Bahrain.

The lifestyle package was the top prize for the Durrat Al Bahrain Ramadan Quiz programme held in November 2005 during Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr. In addition to the grand prize package, prizes worth US$190,000 were given away during the shows, which were held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) and aired daily on Channel 44.

Thousands of people from Bahrain and throughout the Arab world took part, either as a live audience, via phone-in. The lines for the phone-in remained open until recently.

In each 30-minute show, contestants answered general knowledge questions and took part in games and sporting challenges related to the Durrat Al Bahrain lifestyle theme.

The US$3 billion Durrat Al Bahrain project (including commercial developments), is now in the final stages of land reclamation and construction of bridges and Phase 1 villas, in the south eastern part of Bahrain. It has been planned as a world-class exclusive residential, leisure, commercial and tourist destination, offering a lifestyle experience unrivalled in the Middle East.
