Etihad Holidays, a division of Etihad Airways, has unveiled a series of special holiday packages for sports fans looking to visit the UAE and experience the excitement of the 2007 Abu Dhabi Golf Championship.
Taking place between 18 – 21 January 2007, the Etihad Airways-sponsored ADGC will see many of the world’s top golfers coming to Abu Dhabi for the second edition of the European Tour event.
“Following the success of the 2006 ADGC there has been considerable international demand from Guests looking to fly with Etihad to Abu Dhabi and spend a few days relaxing at the tournament,” said Nick Wood, General Manager, Etihad Holidays.
The Etihad Holidays special ADGC deals include return Etihad Coral Zone airfare, airport transfer, two night’s accommodation (based on two people sharing) and daily access to the tournament.

To take advantage of Etihad Holidays’ ADGC promotion, which offers accommodation at the exclusive Beach Rotana, Sheraton Abu Dhabi and Crowne Plaza hotels, Guests must start and complete their holidays between 15 and 25 January.
Guests also living in each of the GCC countries of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia can book these special deals, flying in and out of Abu Dhabi with Etihad Airways.
As lead sponsor and official airline for the 2007 Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, Etihad will be involved in a series of promotional activities surrounding the tournament as well as flying the players, officials and their equipment to the UAE.
In conjunction with this sponsorship, Etihad is giving golfers around the world the opportunity to win a place on a competition for the world’s longest golf drive from the wing of an Etihad aircraft.
The competition will build on the phenomenal success of the 2006 Swing on the Wing, in which images of professional golfers, Ian Poulter and Paul Casey, were beamed around the world.
Forty golf clubs around the globe are currently taking part in the promotion, where members are attempting to win their club’s longest-drive competition.
The winning player will then be entered into a prize draw, with the chance of flying to Abu Dhabi for the final.
Three winning names from the participating golf clubs will be chosen and flown to Abu Dhabi to compete alongside European Tour golf star, and long drive specialist Paul Slater, at Abu Dhabi International Airport on 17 January 2007.
