Empost appoints new Operational Consultant to further enhance productivity

Empost, the UAE’s national courier service, has announced the appointment of Mark McCormack as its new Operational Consultant. McCormack will be responsible for increasing productivity and efficiency of Empost’s operations and will also contribute in developing innovative products and services.

McCormack, a British National, has over 17 years experience in the postal service and joins Empost from The British Postal Consultancy Service arm of Royal Mail, for whom he recently held the positions of Programme Manager for World Bank sponsored postal development projects in Africa and Programme Manager for the Oman Post Modernization, Commercialization and Privatization project.

Commenting on his appointment, Sultan Al Midfa, Chief Executive Officer, Empost, said. “The appointment of Mark McCormack as Operational Consultant reflects Empost’s commitment to achieving the highest standards of quality and efficiency. McCormack’s vast experience in postal services around the world will prove extremely useful in enhancing Empost’s overall performance and growth, as we strive to offer better quality of service to our customers. Mark McCormack has a Bsc. Hon. in Engineering from the University of Wales and post graduate certificates in Management and Business Planning. During his career so far, he has been involved with the development of commercial postal services in Britain, Qatar, Hong Kong, Kenya, Greece and several other countries world-wide.

Empost was established in May 1997 to fill a gap in express courier services in the UAE. Over time, Empost has evolved into a diverse service organisation with an effective international distribution network and infrastructure. It has a domestic fleet of over 400 vehicles and specialised staff offering personalised professional services.
