emirates driving institute appoints general manager – technical and operations

Emirates Driving Institute has announced the appointment of Peter Richardson in the position of General Manager – Technical and Operations.

Mr. Richardson has had a distinguished career with 35 years in the Road Safety Industry. He joins EDI after having served as former Head of Training for the Institute of Advanced Motorists in the United Kingdom.

“We warmly welcome Mr. Richardson to Emirates Driving Institute. With a wealth of experience behind him, his expertise and leadership skills will be an advantage to the functioning of our organisation. In addition, his knowledge will play an important role in adding to the well-experienced team we have in the institute,” said Amer Ahmed Belhasa, Managing Director of EDI.

Whilst Mr. Richardson’s responsibilities at EDI include overseeing all EDI’s Operations & Technical activities, because of his years in the IAM he has specialist knowledge in the training of fleet drivers: contracting companies, distribution companies, academic institutes, oil & gas companies etc.

The emphasis of Mr. Richardson’s specialty has been, and remains, the teaching of safe driving techniques and accident avoidance / prevention, particularly in drivers who are engaged in driving for long elapsed periods of time and / or whose cargoes are precious and of high value.
