Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa arrived Friday in Algeria on a two-day visit during which he will hold talks with Algerian officials and attend the fourth round of the two countries' joint committee, reported the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA).
Moussa told reporters upon arrival he would convey a message from President Hosni Mubarak to his Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on bilateral ties and issues of common concern notably the situation in North Africa and the Mediterranean regions as well as the Middle East peace process, said KUNA. He also said that the joint committee will discuss the lifting of dual taxation and means to protect and promote investment.
Egyptian businessmen, meanwhile, plan to invest $1 billion in various projects in Algeria, Algerian ambassador to Egypt, Mustafa al-Sharif, was quoted as saying by the United Press International agency (UPI) last week.
Al-Sharif said the Egyptian businessmen were considering investing in industrial, food, and pharmaceutical projects – Albawaba.com
