Syrian president Bashar al-Assad and his Egyptian counterpart Hosni Mubarak held two meetings Thursday noon one of them bilateral at al-Itihadiya palace in Cairo. The open meeting was attended by Syrian Vice President Farouq al-Shara and Foreign Minister Walid al-Mouallem as well as Minister of Information Mohsen Bilal.
According to sources in Cairo, the talks focused on the situation between Syria and Lebanon relations in addition to the developments in both Palestine and Iraq. The meeting between Mubarak and Al Assad came a few days after a meeting held between the Egyptian President and the Jordanian monarch.
