A fire broke out on a train Tuesday in the southern part of Egypt, official sources said.

Egypt's state-run Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported that two carriages were destroyed during the fire aboard the train traveling from the capital city of Cairo to the southern city of Asyut, but reported no deaths and said the fire was put under control, AFP said.

It did not say whether anyone had been injured.

The fire broke out one month after a train inferno that claimed around 373 lives on the same line south of Cairo. (Albawaba.com)
