Two men and a woman, accused of spying for Israel were ordered detained for 45 days on Tuesday pending further investigation of their case, judicial officials said.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the officials said the detention order was issued by a Cairo court and that the three people were arrested over four months ago in the coastal town of al-Arish. News of their arrest had been suppressed for security reasons, they added, according to AP

The officials identified two of the three by their first names only. They did not, however, identify the third. They said the two are Nagla'a, a retired 35-year-old women's handball player, and Mosa'ad, a retired soccer player from Cairo's Zamalek club.

They said the three spied for Israel in exchange for money, but had no other details. (Albawaba.com)
