e-TQM College announces the launch of its annual Pan Arab Media Quality Award 2006

Dubai’s e-TQM College, the pioneering e-learning institution specialized in offering Total Quality Management Education, has announced today (06 February, 2006), the launch of its third annual Pan Arab Media Quality Award 2006, held under the patronage of HE General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, President e-TQM College.

The first-of-its-kind award was instituted in 2004 by e-TQM College to enhance awareness of TQM principles in the region through the Arabic and English media in the Arab World and is being sponsored this year by DTK Computers.

Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Vice President, e-TQM College said: “The Pan Arab Media Quality Awards demonstrates e-TQM College’s commitment to spreading awareness of TQM practices and its role in enhancing the productivity and efficiency of Arab businesses. The huge response the Award has been receiving from the region’s media and the interest it has generated among the public is demonstrative of its relevance and success.”

“Total Quality Management is a universal movement driving enterprises to achieve high levels of performance and productivity. Through the media e-TQM College will be able to impress upon regional organisations the benefits of implementing quality management concepts,” Dr. Al Awar added.

Participants have to submit in-depth published articles or programmes in four categories, best article, best feature, best interview and best research that focus on TQM-related subjects such as Encouraging Management Concept, Organizational Development, Industry issues in education and healthcare services, Skills, Talent and Nationalization, GATT global optimisation, Performance Governance Issues, Knowledge-Based Economy, e-based issues such as e-Government, e-Commerce and IT and socio-cultural issues related to work. However, no mention of e-TQM College is allowed in these submissions.
The best entry (English or Arabic) in each of the four categories will be selected for the award, which will be announced on the 28th of March 2006. Participants will be judged on their grasp of TQM principles in their published or broadcast work by a panel of judges of international repute, experienced professors and veteran practitioners of TQM concepts. The 4 winners will receive DTK Presto X55 laptops from DTK Computers along with a crystal trophy presented by the president of the College, HE Dhahi Khalfan Tamim. The deadline for submitting entries is 20th of March 2006.
The DTK Presto X55 comes loaded with state-of the art features including 15.4” TFT WXGA LCD with AMD Turion 2.0 Ghz -1 MB VRAM, 512 MB DDR 2 RAM, Wireless 802.11g standard, 80 GB Hard Disk Drive (DDR) along with standard PC-MCI Modem and 10/100 Ethernet Card, 4 in 1 card reader.

The award underlines the College’s commitment to spreading the message of TQM, encourages media and ensures its participation in highlighting the need for TQM in business and helps to raise awareness among Arab managements about the importance of adopting TQM practices in enterprises. The award positions e-TQM College as the leading disseminator of quality practices in the Arab world.
