As part of the pre-build up to the ESPN X Games Dubai 2006, students across Dubai can look forward to something special, when some of the stars will be demonstrating their skills at schools across Dubai.
“It is exciting to see the support and interest in action sports here in Dubai as it was apparent last year at X Games Dubai when so many people came out for the weekend,” said BMX champion Simon Tabron. “Last year was amazing, and I am looking forward to my return to Dubai.’
ESPN and chief sponsor Mountain Dew will bring the ESPN X Games to Dubai Creek Park from 1st to 3rd December, one of the leading annual sports events in the Middle East. With last year’s event attended by approximately 23,000 sports enthusiasts, this highly-anticipated, family-orientated event is rapidly growing in popularity from year to year.
This year’s event will see some spectacular performances on the vert ramp from top athletes including skateboard gold medallist Sandro Dias (Brazil), BMX legend Matt Hoffman (USA), in-line skate champions Fabiola da Silva (Brazil) plus Eito and Takeshi Yasutoko (Japan), Moto X phenomenon’s Jake Bowen (Australia)and Cameron Sinclair (Australia), plus leading competitors from England, Spain, Denmark and France.
‘Last year’s X games was absolutely amazing – to get the chance to see the skills of these guys in the flesh and so close up,’ says 15 year old Michael Osborne, ‘If they come to our school, I’ll definitely be there – I can’t wait.’
Together with Presenting Sponsor, PepsiCo's Mountain Dew brand, the event will also be supported by Official Car Partner Dodge, Electronic Arts "Need For Speed Carbon" and Men's fragrance Hugo Energise.
