Dubai Municipality has launched an e-newsletter, featuring news reports on the civic body's activities, which is being sent to companies, institutions and individuals, the Gulf News reported Wednesday.

The new service comes in line with publicizing the activities of the civic organization among the different segments of society.

The director of the IT department at the municipality, Abdul Hakim Malik, was quoted by the Dubai-based paper as saying that “with the introduction of the e-government and the rapid expansion of e-mail users, an e-newsletter will provide the easiest way to provide information about Dubai Municipality's activities to the public."

He noted that the newsletter, which is published both in Arabic and English upon request at newsletter@dm.gov.ae, contains the latest news and reports about Dubai Municipality before they appear in the newspapers.

Malik said the e-newsletter would be sent in the first phase to the addresses already available to the municipality, such as private establishments, government departments, businessmen and diplomatic missions – Albawaba.com
