Salem Al Shair, eServices Director, Dubai eGovernment has been named ‘Young CEO of the Year’ at the Third Middle East CEO of the Year Awards that were announced yesterday (Wednesday, March 22, 2006), at the Burj Al Arab, Dubai. The award was presented by Joschka Fischer, former German Deputy Chancellor and Foreign Minister and Anwar Ibrahim, former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.
The ‘Young CEO of the Year’ award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated vision and leadership to take their organisation to a new level of growth, achievement and recognition.
It recognizes professionals and individuals who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. The winner is selected based on performance and track record in areas such as: the CEO's skills and contribution; financial, marketing, operations and development management; and involvement in the community, environment and region.

The Middle East CEO of the Year Awards, instituted by Datamatix, honours the career achievements of extraordinary CEO’s from the Government, Industry, Service Sector, Banking & Finance, Information & Communication Technology sectors as well as the best young CEO and woman CEO from the Middle East.
