Dredging at Tripoli’s Port will Resume soon

Dredging at Tripoli Port will resume soon, with a total cost of 9.5 million dollars, reported the Daily Star newspaper, quoting an official as saying. 

Michael Moufarez, president of Mamco General Contractors which will carry out the project, said that the dredging operation undertaken by Mamco and Dutch engineering partner Ballast Nedham had stopped temporarily, while the deal to start the second deepening phase was finalized.  

The first phase of work to deepen the port from nine meters to 11 has been completed, said Moufarez.  

The second phase, which will dredge the port to 13 meters at a cost of $6 million, will resume once financing is approved by the ministries of public works and transport and the finance – Albawaba.com
