Los Angeles Dodgers manager Davey Johnson missed Sunday night's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates after he had been diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat.
Johnson, 57, experienced dizziness Sunday morning and was admitted to Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood, near the team's home field, for observation and tests.
Team physician Dr. Michael Mellman said Johnson, who managed the New York Mets to a 4-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox the 1986 World Series, is in stable condition and in no danger.
Bench coach Jim Tracy took over Johnson's duties.
Before Sunday's game, the Dodgers were fourth in the National League West, six games behind first-placed Arizona Diamondbacks - (AFP)
