DHL Jordan has awarded its Employee of the Year for 2005, Ma’moun Tayyan, with an all expenses paid trip to Beirut, Lebanon, joining his fellow winners from DHL branches in the Middle East.
Ma’moun Tayyan’s one week trip included an award giving ceremony, sightseeing in famous archaeological sites such as Byblos, Deir Al Qamar, Abu Nuwas and Prince Basheer castles, as well as fine dining in exclusive Lebanese eateries highlighted by an array of entertaining shows.
Ma’moun, a DHL ground courier for six years, won the coveted award by displaying high level of performance, team spirit and great sense of dedication and commitment to his job.
Rhys Williams, DHL Jordan Country Manager, said: “We believe that to maintain the DHL high levels of standard we must above all honour those who make it possible for us to prosper. We operate an intricate system where each step is time controlled, our employees are integral links in every chain to ensure customer satisfaction; this is why we realise that honouring employees who have excelled is an inherent part of our success.”
DHL recognises employees that display traits related to the company’s seven corporate values, as well as a certain level of professionalism coupled with a tendency to go over and above the line of duty by displaying innovation and initiative.
“These annual appreciation programmes have proven very effective in increasing productivity and company loyalty throughout DHL worldwide. We see that recognising Jordan’s employees also serves to emphasise the great level of competence in the Kingdom,” Williams added.
