Damascus Radio said Saturday that Israeli Prime Minister Sharon has “anticipated” the meetings, which will be held in Sharm al Sheikh and Aqaba with US President George Bush by announcing his adherence to the occupation of Jerusalem.
In its daily political commentary, the radio, cited by SANA, added that Sharon is going to leave for
Aqaba despite the fact that he still rejects the “Road Map” through reservations on its plans.
According to the radio, Sharon’s apparent aim is to oblige the Palestinians to start an interior struggle, thus he can “avoid the responsibility of the failure of implementing this map”.
The state-run radio added that it seems Sharon’s government thought that through “deceitfulness”, it could currently fulfill what it had failed to do by the “criminal practices to end the Intifada”.
The radio further said that Israel should adhere to International Legitimacy resolutions 242, 338 and 425. (Albawaba.com)
