ALBAWABA - The Czech Republic government is studying to relocate its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem making it the first European country to follow the US in moving the embassy to Jerusalem, Israeli media reported on Saturday.

Ynet reported citing a senior Czech official who told an Israeli counterpart that the Czech government will be announcing its decision to move the embassy very soon.

The Czech Republic's decision comes after a call by US President Donald Trump, who moved the American embassy to Jerusalem in 2018 during his term.

That same year, the Czech Republic announced launching offices in Jerusalem for cultural and economic affairs, and later the country opened a consular section.
