A Chinese delegation headed by the Chinese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Jordan His Excellency Mr. Gong Xiaosheng paid a visit to Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT). The delegation was received by Mr. Amin Kawar, Mr. Phil Mayden, and Mr. Ihab Al Rawashdeh, senior executives of ACT.

During his visit to the Terminal, which included a tour in the site, H.E. was briefed on the different duties and services ACT provides for its clients. In expressing his admiration for advanced systems and technologies now implemented at the Terminal, Xiaosheng praised the great efforts of ACT managers and staff. Also, he had a close look at the latest equipment worth some US$30 million acquired by ACT from ZPMC, a major Chinese manufacturer. The new equipment will help position ACT as one of the most modern and efficient Terminals in the Middle East.

Aqaba Containers Terminal
Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) is the only Jordanian container terminal. It is a major gateway for the Jordanian market, as well as for transit cargo moving to and from other countries in the region. In 2004 a contract was signed between Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) and APM Terminals, agreeing that APM Terminals Jordan will operate, manage and market ACT for an initial period of two years. ACT is committed to providing a world class facility for its customers, and continuously looks for further enhancements and developments. This has already resulted in a number of upgrades to the facility and its equipment
