US Vice President Richard Cheney arrived in Qatar on Sunday, the eighth leg of a Middle East region visit to muster support for the campaign against terror, officials said.
Cheney, who arrived from the Kingdom of Bahrain, where he held talks with King Hamad bin Issa al-Khalifa and Crown Prince Sheikh Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa, was scheduled to meet with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, according to AFP.
"Doha will express to Mr. Cheney its strong opposition to an American military strike against Iraq," said Qatari newspaper Al-Raya. That is a message Cheney has also heard in Saudi Arabia, Yemen and the UAE. (Albawaba.com)
