Cairo Police detained 13 alleged members of Egypt's banned Muslim Brotherhood on Thursday, including the grandson of the group's late leader, police officials and the movement's lawyer said, according to AP.
Ten of the men were arrested while holding an "organizational meeting" in the northern Cairo suburb of Zeitoun, the officials said. Police also confiscated leaflets and literature of the group.
Three others were taken from their Cairo homes, while police were still searching for another suspected member, the group's lawyer, Abdel Moneim Abdel Maksoud, said.
Those arrested include professionals, businessmen and professors, plus Tarek Mohammed Abdel Jawad, a southern Egyptian university graduate and grandson of the group's late leader, Mustafa Mashhour, who died in early November.
