The British University in Dubai (BUiD), the Middle East’s first research-based University, is continuing its policy of extending educational opportunities across the region by holding two Open Days in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

Entering its third year of operations, the University – which attracts a high proportion of mature students from a diverse range of backgrounds – has been praised for the active steps it has taken to encourage lifelong learning and educational access.

Prospective students and companies can learn more about the University’s diverse range of postgraduate courses and facilities while meeting academic staff in Sharjah on Thursday, 14th September. Three days later, on Sunday 17th September, a similar Open Day will be held in Abu Dhabi.

BUiD offers Masters programmes in Information Technology, IT Management, Education, Environmental Design of Buildings, Finance and Banking and Project Management.

“Our postgraduate education and continuing professional development programmes are proving very popular with students and professionals keen to extend and build on their knowledge and experience. Our open days are designed to support our ambition of enabling people from across the Emirates to learn more about what we can offer at the University,” said David Lock, Registrar and Acting Chief Executive of BUiD.

BUiD’s students come from a wide range of backgrounds with many already active in the workforce and looking for opportunities to enhance their career by gaining further qualifications. Others progress directly from undergraduate programmes in universities and colleges around the region.

The Sharjah Open Day will be held at the Radisson SAS Hotel on Corniche Road between 15:00 and 20:00 while the Abu Dhabi Open Day will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Hamdan Street, between 15:00 and 20:00

More information about BUiD and the programmes on offer are available by visiting its Knowledge Village campus in Dubai between 09:00 and 17:00 Saturday to Thursday. Information is also available on the website at www.buid.ac.ae.
