Britain's Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, lobbying support for the United States and British tough stance against Iraq, will begin a regional tour this week with meetings with Arab League chief Amr Mussa and Egyptian leaders, the official news agency MENA reported Sunday.
Straw, whose two-day visit to Cairo begins on Monday, is expected to hold talks with Mussa as well as Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak and Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher, officials said.
British diplomatic sources, quoted by MENA, said the top British diplomat's discussions would center on "the situation between the Palestinians and the Israelis, on Iraq and bilateral relations."
Foreign Secretary Straw is also scheduled to visit Jordan, Kuwait and Iran. (Albawaba.com)
