Chief U.N. weapons inspector Hans Blix said on Friday he would meet with Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein if he were invited to do so, and would tell Saddam to cooperate more actively with inspections, Reuters reported.

But Blix would not reveal whether he and his colleague, International Atomic Energy Agency Director-General Mohamed ElBaradei, would travel to Baghdad in early February in response to an invitation from an adviser to Saddam in charge of the U.N. inspection process.

"Well, I think that if the Iraqi side were to suggest that, certainly we would be meeting him," Blix told reporters. "We would describe the dangerous situation and the main thing we have -- (no) cooperation in substance," he said. (Albawaba.com)
