Visitors to this year’s GITEX Shopper at the Airport Expo are being dazzled by the opportunity to win a top-of-the-range BenQ LCD television every hour of the exhibition.

Shoppers purchasing AED 500 and above at the Jacky’s stand will be eligible to enter a draw for BenQ LCD televisions, which will be given away every hour of GITEX Shopper.  In addition, Jacky’s will give shoppers spending AED 500 a scratch-and-win coupon for the chance to get a BenQ digital camera – one of 1,001 being given away.  Shoppers who don’t win a digital camera will receive a discount voucher against future purchases at any Jacky’s retail outlet.

“Our key theme at GITEX is personalized enjoyment, and this exciting offer gives shoppers the chance to get up close and personal with our technology on the hour, every hour at GITEX Shopper.  To add to the excitement this Gitex, we are giving away 66 BenQ LCD TVs and 1,001 BenQ Digital Cameras through Jacky’s consumer promotions,” said Manish Bakshi, General Manager, BenQ Middle East and Africa.

“Realizing the growing strength of retail in the Middle East and following BenQ’s corporate strategy of Last Mile Marketing, this year our approach to Gitex 2006 is to partner with leading power retailers to showcase BenQ’s innovative, well-designed and affordable technology to consumers in the Middle East. Having one of the largest chain of retail outlets in the country and the biggest presence this Gitex, Jacky’s Electronics was a natural choice to partner with for our biggest consumer promotion ever,” he added.

Multi-brand retailer, Jacky’s Electronics, has doubled its presence at GITEX Shopper 2006, continuing its steep rise in sales year on year at the event and this year giving shoppers at its stand three times the opportunity to win a host of IT & electronic products.

Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer, Jacky’s Electronics, commenting on Jacky’s increased presence at the event, said that the show was a major contributor to the company’s annual sales increase and the company looked forward to the 2006 event for both the boost in sales and a first hand understanding of emerging customer trends.

“GITEX Shopper is an important event for IT retailers as consumer trends that are revealed through such an event are carried forward into the planning for the coming year. This year, keeping in mind emerging consumer requirements, we intend to grow certain focus categories, by having dedicated stands for each product category, such as LCD and plasma TVs, digital still and video cameras. We also hope to build on our strong relationships with our partners to ensure we effectively communicate the needs of our customers,” he said.

Jacky’s, which has participated in GITEX Shopper for the past five years, has achieved major sales gains through the annual event. Over the years the company has had a first-hand view of changing buying patterns at the event; while in its first year IT sales only generated five per cent of its retail sales, today its IT sales account for 45 per cent of its annual retail sales.

To outshine in a very competitive marketplace and to emphasize the image of BenQ as a cool, affordable brand, BenQ offers a variety of products to facilitate the digital lifestyle of the Middle East. BenQ’s Gitex offering includes sensational deals on its award winning product line-up including LCD TVs, LCD Monitors, Projectors and Digital Cameras.
