Batelco Training & Development department held a party on 13 December to welcome a group of employees’ children selected this year to benefit from Batelco Scholarship Scheme and honoured another group who completed their university studies.

Batelco is the first company to introduce such a vital scheme that helps its employees through financially supporting their children to continue their study in the University of Bahrain and other institutes in Bahrain. This programme is one of a series of benefits that Batelco gives to employees to reward their loyalty to the company.

“We continuously work on improving the scheme to meet both the company and employees’ expectations in terms of the benefits it provides and the number of beneficiaries”, said Batelco GM Human Resources and Services, Shaikh Ahmed Al Khalifa.

“This party coincides with the company’s 25th anniversary and this scheme is a significant addition to the extensive list of benefits Batelco has offered to its employees over the years,” added Shaikh Ahmed.

Shaikh Ahmed praised the efforts made by the graduates, presented them with commemorative gifts and urged them to make use of the knowledge they gained for the common interest of their country and community. He also welcomed the new group of employees’ children selected this year and encouraged them to benefit from this excellent opportunity offered by Batelco.

Batelco Training Coordinator, Masalek Al Haddad, gave a speech in which she praised the success of the scholarship programme since its launch in 2000. She said the scheme applies transparent and fair selection criteria based on which the candidates are selected.

About 70 employees’ children have so far benefited from the scheme and the first two groups graduated last year and this year.
