Batelco Jordan, the Kingdom’s leading data communication and web development and hosting provider, walked away with eight successes at the Pan Arab Web Awards ceremony held in Amman on April 27th, 2006,
The awards mark Batelco Jordan’s second sweeping success in a row at the annual web award ceremony held at the Grand Hyatt Amman, where the company won Gold, Silver and Bronze award for various websites.
Crowning the batch was the Gold Awards for the recently launched www.sehetna.com under the Health Services Category, followed by three silver awards for Batelco Jordan’s own website www.batelco.jo. and the website of Al Ghad Sports www.alghad.jo/football under the Sports category, in addition to the Prime Ministry’s website www.pm.gov.jo under the Governmental Organizations category. And the website for Amman Stock Exchange www.exchange.jo won the Bronze award under the Banks and Financial Institutions category.
As for the golden Medals, Batelco Jordan got three of them for Aqaba’s website www.aqaba.jo under the Travel and Tourism category, and the Securities Depository Center www.demo.batelco.jo/sdc for the best Governmental Organization category. And lastly Al Ghad newspaper website www.alghad.jo Media and Press category.

The Pan Arab Web Awards brings together web design companies, freelancers and web owners in a competition that seeks to identify, recognize and foster excellence in web designing in the Arab world.
The objective of this competition is to evaluate websites all over the Arab world and honour individuals or teams that have designed and developed the best among them. Organisations and individual designers from all Arab Countries are eligible to participate in the Awards.
There were 126 websites in the competition reflecting various sectors and disciplines, including Art and Design, Banks and Financial Institutes, Corporate and E-Commerce, Cultural and Education, Directories and Information Services, Fashion, Government, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), International Organizations, Health Services, Information Technology (IT), Industry, Media, Personal, Travel and Tourism, Entertainment, and Transportation. The entries were judged by an independent jury comprising of industry leaders, technologists and other leading personalities.
