Bahrain takes off at MEED Airport Project Conference

Air traffic and infrastructure will come under the spotlight at the Middle East Airport Projects Conference, to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain on December 11 and 12.

The conference organized by MEED and held under the patronage of H.E. Capt Abdulrahman Moh’d Algaoud, undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation in the Kingdom of Bahrain, is particularly timely following the aggressive tourism targets set by many countries around the GCC and the billion dollar deals struck at the recent Dubai Air Show.

Among the speakers at the event are representatives from all major airport projects developments in the GCC countries including Jebel Ali Airport, which is set to be the biggest airport in the world. In addition, the Abu Dhabi Airport is forecast to welcome more than 20 million passengers on completion.

Opening the proceedings will be His Excellency Captain Abdulrahaman Moh’d Algaoud. Algaoud will welcome speakers and delegates to the Kingdom and give an overview of the intense airport activity in Bahrain as well as the rest of the GCC.
Arabia is fast becoming a centre of travel activity, according to Edmund O’Sullivan, the conference chairman. Regional governments have set tough tourism objectives tould like to thank the government of Bahrain and H.E Sheikh Ali Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Transportation for their support,” said O’Sullivan.

"As in all other fields, this region and its governments are proving that no stone will be left unturned to make sure that all GCC countries will soon be able to offer tourist and business travelers the best experience in the world.

For the first time a panel discussion on the airports of the future will see aft such as the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 787.
The Middle East Airport Projects Conference will be held at the Diplomat SAS Radisson Hotel Manama, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, on December 11 and 12.
