ALBAWABA - The U.S. military is in full readiness to launch a strike against Iran as early as this weekend, and they are waiting for an order from U.S. President Donald Trump, CNN reported on Thursday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

In addition, a report in The Wall Street Journal mentioned that Washington deployed a large number of fighter jets and aircraft to the Middle East, amassing the largest air force presence in the region since the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Over the past few days, the Trump administration has continued to move advanced F-35 and F-22 fighter jets toward the region amid tension with Iran despite talks in Geneva, which are mediated by Oman, according to flight tracking data and an American official.

U.S. officials said this firepower would give Washington the option of waging a sustained air war against Iran for weeks, the newspaper reported.

On the other hand, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported, citing a military source, that the United States will notify Israel in advance if it decides to launch an attack on Iran.
