In a bid to cut down the number of underage smokers, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) recently launched a two-year anti-smoking program last week, making Aqaba the first city in the Middle East to prevent the number of underage smokers.

Organized in cooperation with the British American Tobacco Company, the three-phase campaign works on spreading awareness among tobacco dealers in the city, Petra reported.

Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khalid Touqan, Minister of Health Saeed Darwazeh, Minister of Interior Awni Yarvas and other officials attended the event.
