A United States military reconnaissance plane crashed in South Korea on Sunday, according to the South Korean Defense Ministry.
"We are receiving reports that a reconnaissance plane of the US military has crashed," a ministry spokesman said, requesting anonymity. "We have no further details yet."
South Korea's Yonhap news agency said the plane crashed in Hwasung, some 50 kilometers south of the capital Seoul. According to the news agency, three people on the ground were injured when the plane exploded and the fate of the American pilot was unknown.
Meanwhile, according to YTN television, the pilot ejected before the crash. However, later it reported it was unclear whether he had survived. (Albawaba.com)
