The American Hospital Dubai has announced plans to expand its services into the North African region, beginning with a marketing campaign in Libya later this year to promote its new Heart Centre Programme.

The private hospital, which already provides world-class medical care across the Middle East, will initially focus on introducing its US standard healthcare services to the re-opened Libyan market at the ‘UAE in Libya’ exhibition being held in Tripoli in November.  The hospital will promote state-of-the-art surgical procedures such as those currently offered by the US board certified physicians at the Heart Centre in Dubai.

“We recognise the great potential in Libya amidst the renewed demand for a wide range of foreign products and amenities, including healthcare services.” said Foteh Tleel, sales and marketing director of American Hospital Dubai.

“The opening of the American Hospital Dubai Heart Centre last year has brought the latest in advanced surgical procedures to cardiac patients in the UAE,” added Tleel.  “By expanding these services into North Africa we aim to continue our success in treating heart disease in this region where the condition is one of the most significant healthcare issues.”

‘UAE in Libya,’ taking place from 27-30 November and lead by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA), will pull together the Emirate’s leading businesses and service providers, all keen to capitalise on Libya’s new era of growth, which is attributed to the final lifting of sanctions, higher oil revenue and the government’s commitment to an ambitious programme of economic modernisation and revitalisation.

The Heart Centre in Dubai draws on the specialist skills of Dr. Emad Dodin, an eminent interventional cardiologist, and Dr. Fouad Azoury, a well known heart surgeon. Both physicians studied, trained and practiced in the US and join Dr. Khaldoun Taha at the new centre, a US board certified cardiologist who has been practicing at the hospital for eight years.

Speaking of the opportunities for service provides like the American Hospital Dubai, Laith Kubba, managing director of event organisers Streamline Marketing, said: “There are outstanding prospects for companies seeking to develop mutually beneficial business relationships with their Libyan public and private sector counterparts.”

“And this officially sanctioned exhibition will bring these two highly compatible countries together to forge new and dynamic business plans,” added Kubba.

The Amercian Hospital Dubai will follow in the footsteps of companies like EMAAR Properties and UAE-based Woodside Petroleum, both at the forefront of ventures into Libyan development.

Other exhibitors expected to take advantage of November’s ‘UAE in Libya’ event are representatives from agriculture, transport, IT and telecommunications, along with food and metal manufacturers and departments belonging to the tourism, training and education sectors.
