Al Yousuf Motors today launched the new Daihatsu Charade, a compact car with many features usually found only in a much larger model, at the 8th Middle East International Motor Show 2005.
Visitors to the motor show, who two years ago numbered over 75,000, are expected to be impressed by the economical yet versatile car. This will be the latest version of the ever popular Charade in the Middle East.
“We believe that the Charade meets the needs of many of the UAE’s drivers and passengers. It’s small in size, and hence convenient for the UAE’s road congestions. It’s economical, so counters some of the effects of the rising fuel costs. It’s smart looking with an aerodynamic form, yet very comfortable. Moreover, it has a high level of safety that has been verified in collision tests,” says Arif Rasheed, Director, Al Yousuf Motors.
“Al Yousuf has seen sales of Daihatsu models growing 40 percent year-on-year,” Rasheed added. “We expect the new Charade to achieve similarly spectacular results, considering all it has to offer to the customer.”
Despite its small size, the Daihatsu has a comfortable driving position for people of all sizes, with a host of adjustment features such as a seat slide mechanism, a tilt steering wheel, seat height adjustment, and adjustable seat belt anchors. It also has a large luggage-carrying capacity of 157 litres.
An extensive list of safety features includes dual air bags, built-in impact absorbing material to cushion heads from impact and the use of high-strength steel plates, among others. All these features combine rigidity and reinforcement without adding extra weight.
“The Charade has all the refinement and sophistication that one would expect in a car a class above in price,” concluded Rasheed.
Al Yousuf will be exhibiting at stands 7G, 7G1 and 7G2 at the motor show, which takes place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) from 12 to 16 December 2005.
