Air Arabia LLC, the first low-fares airline in the Middle East and North Africa, has announced that it will recommence its operations to and from Beirut effective Friday, September 8, 2006.
The resumption of scheduled Air Arabia flights comes after confirmation by the Lebanese authorities that commercial airline operations to Beirut can restart. Flights are now open for sale. The schedule offers a daily flight between Sharjah and Beirut, with a combination of morning and evening flights to suit customer preferences.
In his comments on recommencing the operations to Lebanon, Mr. Adel Ali, CEO of Air Arabia, said: “After the cessation of the war in Lebanon, it is imperative that we ensure that all of us do everything we can to facilitate some degree of normalcy for travellers to and from Lebanon. We realize that there are many who want to go back to their homes and to see family and friends as soon as they can and we want to do all that we can to help.”
He added: “For passengers who had booked for travel on our Damascus flights up to 30 September but who now wish to transfer directly back to Beirut, they are advised to contact our Call Centres where they can rebook at no additional charge.”
