Iranian Foreign Minister, Kamal Kharrazi has concluded a successful two-day official visit to Pakistan, after talks with Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf on ways to end the difference between the two neighboring countries.
Iran and Pakistan said Friday the fall of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan had cleared the way for a “new era” in their relationship, after ties between the two Islamic states had soured during the Afghan conflict, AFP reported.
“After the Taliban there is no gap between Pakistan and Iran,” Kharazi said after talks with Musharraf.
During his stay in Islamabad, the Iranian Foreign Minister met and held talks with his Pakistani counterpart, Abdul Sattar, on bilateral and regional issues, focussing on Afghanistan.
The two sides described the talks as fruitful and agreed to jointly work for reconstruction of neighboring Afghanistan, Iran’s official news agency (IRNA) said.
Iran and Pakistan also agreed to form a joint committee on proposed gas pipeline project – Albawaba.com
