Ford is set to create considerable buzz in this year's regional motor shows in December as it rolls out world-class product offerings for 2011 headlined by the exciting new 2011 Ford Edge, the new Mustang 3.7L V6 and the 5.0L V8 GT, and the new 2011 Lincoln MKX. The all-new sub-compact B-car, the Ford Figo, also joins the ranks in Oman and Riyadh, marking its regional debut.

"Now more than ever, the Ford and Lincoln brands feature one of their most refreshed lineups ever," said Larry Prein, Ford Middle East's managing director. "Visitors to the Ford stands at these autoshows will clearly touch upon the tremendous achievements we have scored on design, quality craftsmanship, technology and features. We remain focused on offering what our customers want: breathtaking looks, class-leading features and technologies, as well as awesome driving dynamics and quality, all presented in a great value package."

"Ford continues to deliver on its promise and achieve superb results in light of the One Ford plan," said Hussein Murad, Regional director of Sales, Ford Middle East. "Visitors to our stands will not only be awed by these great new products, but will clearly understand why more and more customers are voting for the Ford and Lincoln products. Not only we have had a great year where we gained further market share, but we have had our dealers' support and commitment to the business, which meant offering a better ownership experience and higher levels of customer satisfaction. All these points converge nicely together during these motorshows and we are thrilled to be part of the action".

First on the roster of auto shows is the Oman International Motor Show (Dec 2-5) followed by the Riyadh Motor Show (Dec 5-9), the Abu Dhabi International Motor Show (Dec 7-11) and the Kuwait Automobile & Accessories Fair (Dec 12-18).

Besides witnessing the awesome new Ford and Lincoln product lineups, visitors of the motor shows will have the chance to take part in various Ford activities and challenges that feature simulator cars, Mustang customization shows, Mustang slot car racing, on-the-go foosball matches and more.

2011 Mustang

Muscle car enthusiasts will get to check out the legendary Ford Mustang which comes with a choice of an awesome entry level 305HP 3.7LV6 and the super performing 412HP 5.0 liter V8 Mustang GT.

The new 2011 Ford Mustang puts 305 high-performance horses in the hands of V-6 coupe buyers with a new all-aluminum double-overhead-camshaft (DOHC) engine that delivers 31 mpg (13.18 km/liter) on the highway with a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2011 lineup also sees the modern 5.0-liter four-valve Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT) V-8 engine in the new Mustang GT, with fuel economy projected to be better than the previous model and unsurpassed in the segment.

2011 Ford Edge

The 2011 Ford Edge created quite a stir when it debuted in GITEX earlier, and rightfully so. Its bold new design has been making heads turn as it blends technology and class-leading powertrains in a revamped package. Dramatic freshening of the 2011 Ford Edge includes extensive exterior redesign, improved materials and craftsmanship on the interior, class-exclusive technology and new powertrains.

In addition to delivering customer-focused technology, the new Edge also showcases Ford's impressive drive to bring new powertrain options to the customer. Both the Edge 3.5-liter V-6 and Edge Sport 3.7-liter V-6 use advanced engine valvetrain technology (Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing, or Ti-VCT) and clever control strategies to increase horsepower and torque to best-in-class levels.

Currently, Ford Edge is creating buzz with its revolutionary MyFord Touch™ driver connect technology, which no one in its segment or the industry is able to match. The industry-first MyFord Touch driver connect technology provides a smarter, safer, simpler way to connect drivers with in-car technologies and their digital lives. It replaces traditional vehicle buttons, knobs and gauges with clear, crisp LCD screens and five-way controls like those found on cell phones and MP3 players.

2011 Ford Figo

Ford's passenger car lineup sees that introduction of a new sub-B compact, the all new Ford Figo, which will debut in Oman and Saudi Arabia at the Motorshows, bringing a smart and affordable contender to retail and fleet customers looking for a quality and value vehicle in the sub-compact segment.

Figo's exterior and interior styling follows global kinetic design elements bringing a new set of standards in its category. The interior of the Figo features five-passenger seating and more interior features for customers wanting something new and refreshing in a Sub-B compact.

Figo offers two fuel-efficient powertrains for the Middle East market: The 1.4L (80ps) Petrol Duratec equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, and the 1.6L (101ps) Petrol Duratec paired with a 5-speed automatic.

2011 Lincoln MKX

The 2011 Lincoln MKX luxury crossover features the first application of industry-exclusive MyLincoln Touch™ driver connect technology, which creates a whole new way for customers to interact with digital and vehicle technology. Its modern, flowing exterior design embraces Lincoln signature DNA - split-wing grille, body-side brightwork and new treatments for taillamps and exhaust tips enhance presence. The Lincoln MKX's all-new interior showcases use of more luxurious materials and attention to detail.

Powertrain enhancements include a new 3.7-liter Duratec® V-6 engine, delivering best-in-class 300 horsepower and 270 ft.-lb. of torque versus all V-6 competitors – plus unsurpassed fuel economy.

Industry leading technologies

Ford's drive for innovation continues this year as new technologies continue to find their way to the region. But the most prominent and eye catching one is probably MyFord Touch™ and MyLincoln Touch™ driver connect technologies that come with the new 2011 Ford Edge and the new Lincoln MKX respectively.

Both new innovations, powered by SYNC, replace many of the traditional vehicle buttons, knobs and gauges with clear, colorful LCD screens and 5-way buttons, offering a smarter, safer and simpler system to connect drivers with in-car technologies and their digital lives. The screens can be personalized to display information relevant to each individual driver using a simple button click, voice command or touch screen tap.

Peace of Mind

Ford is offering even more peace of mind to owners of its 2011MY products, by extending the 24-hour free roadside assistance to 5 years or 100,000km, whichever comes first. This comes with the existing 5 years/100,000 km powertrain warranty on North American products and the 3 year/60,000km manufacturer bumper to bumper warranty.
