Hundreds of rock-cut tombs were accidentally discovered by archaeologists in Egypt , some dating back more than 4,000 years. In all, 250 grave sites were uncovered during a routine archaeological survey in the Al-Hamidiyah necropolis near Sohag, on the west banks of the Nile River.
