Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh has announced an amnesty for all jailed supporters of former Member of Parliament, Hussein al-Houthi, who clashed with the military last year. In his speech in a symposium over the Yemeni Revolution held in Taiz, Mr. Saleh said "We have declared the amnesty for the supporters of Hussein al-Houthi and his father who are in jail for the strife they caused." "We have pardoned them despite the blood that has been spilled," he added.
