Ahmed Dheya is nicknamed “Iraqi Messi” for his hairstyle and killer football skills. But the Mosul 10 year old native didn’t stand much of a chance to make it in football being from Mosul, currently occupied by Daesh (ISIS). Now, Dheya is in Amman, Jordan where he hopes to pursue his dreams of playing professional soccer, khaberni reports.

Dheya fled Daesh’s entrance into Mosul in 2014, moving to Kirkuk due to the security situation there, according to his father in a video interview with Beladi, an Iraqi TV channel. The same video shows Dheya’s tremendous shooting and passing skills. “I root for FC Barcelona,” said Dheya, who dreams of playing for the famed football club one day.

According to khaberni, Dheya and his family have now moved to Amman, where they hope scouts will discover him.
