So as well as being the first day of spring, today is also officially the International Day of Happiness. The hashtag #يوم_السعاده_العالمي (International day of happiness) is currently trending on the twittersphere in the Arab world, but does it really give us an insight into what makes people happy in the Middle East?

What does International day of happiness mean when poverty is increasing in Egypt, didn't anyone tell you we are really poor?
The UAE topped the rest of the Middle East in regards to happiness, coming in at 28th happiest country in the world. This shouldn’t be too much of a surprise considering they have their own ministers for youth, happiness and tolerance.
