ALBAWABA - Patriotic volunteers who didn’t make the cut for the IRGC are out on Iran’s beaches patrolling the coast with their sandals and AKS rifles.
A video posted by Iran's state media television (IRIB) displayed men holding weapons walking at a beach in the city of Jask, southern Iran, amid fears of escalating tension with the United States and fears of a ground operation by American forces.
Tensions between Iran and the U.S. have been hitting the region in waves; this last wave, however, seems to be the highest since the war began, with the Trump administration threatening a "massive attack bigger than ever before."
Not allowing themselves to sit idly while Trump threatens their country, armed men of Jask county in Iran made their way to the beaches to defend their land invaded by the U.S.
The U.S. military paused its attacks on Tehran as it didn't announce fresh attacks on Iran on Friday and Saturday after nearly two weeks of intensifying bombing, while diplomatic efforts have pushed forward to try to stop the war, the Associated Press reported today.
A Department of Defense source told CNN that American operations on Iran are "on hold".
"It looks like Washington is just trying to cool the temperature, trying to enforce some form of de-escalation," according to Negah Angha, a former senior adviser at the U.S. State Department and National Security Council during the administration of former President Joe Biden.
