ALBAWABA- A New York Times report clarified that the U.S. Department of Defense, known as the Pentagon, has been keeping secret the real number of American service members injured in Iran's latest attacks in Jordan.
NYT report said the Pentagon has not released full information regarding the injuries sustained by dozens of American service members or the damage to military equipment following three Iranian attacks targeting American forces in Jordan, prior to the latest attack, which resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and the disappearance of another.
Following the deaths of two American soldiers in the latest attack, the number of U.S. military fatalities since the start of the United States and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28 has risen to 16.

According to American officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the three previous attacks resulted in injuries to dozens of U.S. service members and damage to several helicopters.
However, the Pentagon has not disclosed details of these strikes or the extent of the resulting losses.
On the other hand, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) defended its decision not to release certain data on the casualties, arguing that disclosing precise information about the strike locations or the extent of the damage could help Iran improve its ballistic missile and drone targeting capabilities.
