ALBAWABA -American-Latina singer Jennifer Lopez recently got slammed across social media platforms after a video of her surfaced spitting gum into her assistant's hand, angering many fans and users alike.
According to The Mirror, the incident took place on New York's streets as Jennifer was seen walking in public next to her co-star and friend. The video in question showed the assistant rushing towards Jennifer with their hand open and spitting the gum on it which naturally caused quite a stir across social media platforms calling the star "Rude" and "Disrespectful".

Users went on to add that even if she was on a movie set, she could've asked the assistant for a napkin or just plain swallowed it as they also called it "Outrageous behavior" towards the assistant. Despite the negative comments, some tried to justify the matter by saying "It's normal for things like this to happen on movie sets".
The video was shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter) garnering more than 10 million views and 40,000 likes with a caption that said:
"Here's JLO spitting chewing gum into her assistant's hand in the middle of New York City. Such rude and nasty behavior. There is no reason to treat your employees like this."
Her assistant took to the matter personally and said the following on X:
"Alright, let's set the record straight on this because I'm the assistant in this and this comes back every few years. First off, yes there is a tissue in my hand. I worked with Jen over several years as her set assistant.
I had to help her on set. In 2017, we were shooting Second Act in the Flatiron district. It was winter & freezing, there were crowds and a ton of paparazzi and we were trying to film as quickly as possible. Jen usually chews gum before scenes out of respect for her coworkers."
She went on to add more to the story and asked users to understand what was happening on the set at the time and not be hateful towards Jennifer or concerned about her wellbeing.
