According to Anime News Network, The television anime's main cast includes:

  • Yoshino Aoyama as Hitori "Bocchi-chan" ("Loner") Gotō
  • Sayumi Suzushiro as Nijika Ijichi
  • Saku Mizuno as Ryо̄ Yamada
  • Ikumi Hasegawa as Ikuyo Kita

The anime is based on a 4-koma manga (also known as a 4-panel manga) by Aki Hamaji and tells the story of Hitori Gotō "Bocchi-chan," a lonely high school girl who dedicated her life to the guitar.

Her day consists of nothing except playing her beloved guitar but one day she meets Nijika Ijichi, a drummer looking to form a band under the name of Kessoku Band and so begins their journey to becoming one of the best bands in Japan!

A 4-panel manga is a layout usually written and illustrated to tell a simple story with a comedic theme.

Bocchi the Rock! is one of the best anime of 2022

Bocchi the Rock!

CloverWorks

The anime studio behind the adaptation, CloverWorks did an excellent job adapting from the manga since they absolutely nailed the comedic essence of Bocchi and the others by adding heartfelt, relatable moments, stunning art, and production making it our favorite anime of 2022!

The soundtrack is a beast of its own because of the massive cast of talented Japanese artists behind it including   Ikumi Hasegawa on vocals, Ai Higuchi (member of 48foureight) on songwriting, Maguro Taniguchi (KANA-BOON's lead singer and guitarist) who wrote the lyrics and composed the ending song.

Our favorite song on the soundtrack is definitely 結束バンド「あのバンド」which was performed live in the anime by Kessoku Band at Starry Cafe.
