Thank you, Saudi judicial system, says Kuwaiti singer Shams after her name was cleared and attorney of UAE singer Ahlam was found guilty of stirring shameful and insulting rumors about Shams via social media.
Naif Abdullah Seed Al Yousif, the lawyer, had allegedly concocted lies about Shams, even going so far as accusing her of committing adultery.
According to the Middle East news portal Elaph, Shams revealed that she will also file lawsuits to the Saudi courts against three other fans of her nemesis colleague of Saudi and Emirati origin who also spread hurtful rumors about her on Twitter and Facebook.
When Shams filed the lawsuit against Ahlam's lawyer he was immediately arrested and admitted for making the false statements against Shams on his Twitter page. The courts found him guilty and sentenced him to 80 whips in public and three years in jail.
