A 25-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide at her boyfriend's apartment in Sharjah, the police revealed on Tuesday. The Moroccan woman hanged herself from the ceiling of the apartment in Abu Shagara recently. The woman, who used to work as a waitress at a hotel in Sharjah, reportedly suffered from depression.
She also reportedly lost her job due to her depression, the police said. According to the police, after they were notified about the body, they rushed to the apartment, took down the body and transferred it to the forensic lab for an autopsy.
Her compatriot boyfriend was taken into custody. He told the police that the deceased was his colleague and was fired by the management because of her depression. Since she used to stay at the hotel, he asked her to move in with him.
He told the police that the deceased was always depressed and "kept talking about suicide".
Police investigations have revealed that the boyfriend had no role in her death. He has, however, been arrested for consuming alcohol.

Separately, a 22-year-old Indian worker allegedly committed suicide in his room at a workers' accommodation in Sharjah's Al Sajja area. The deceased's roommate found the body hanging from the ceiling and notified the police.
The police have ruled out any foul play in the incident. Investigations revealed the worker had some financial issues back home.
