The catwalk has become raunchier over the years but this collection just might be the most risque yet.

Photographer Joel Alvarez, from Miami, has sent models down the runway wearing nothing but bikinis made of tape.

The tape, which was strategically placed over the models' most intimate areas, barely covered their modesty.

The looks were created by fashion house Black Tape Project and debuted at a Miami Swim Week show on Monday.
The models strutted down the runway in with tape decorated in the shape of bikinis, one pieces and Borat-style mankinis all made of tape in bright colours and metallics.

And it must be sturdy stuff, as it barely covered the models' modesty as they walked down the catwalk.

The range was created by photographer Joel, who describes himself as a 'tape artist'.

His website reveals he started the project in 2008 after a model asked him to photograph her covered in electrical tape.

He said: 'So I basically wrapped her in black electrical tape. Mind you she looked like 2 Christmas hams wrapped in rubber bands when I was done.

'I'd never show you these images! BUT It sparked an idea in my head.'

He started expanding his portfolio by taking snaps of Hooters waitresses covered in the tape, before moving on to over types of tape.

Alvarez then started to sell his creations in nightclubs in Miami, before taking them across the world to Ibiza, France, Norway and Canada.

After he photographed a former Miss Puerto Rico he uploaded a video of their shoot, which received 7 million views and over 50,000 shares worldwide.

He now sells golden tape on his website for up to $49.99 (£37.63) so fans can recreate the look for themselves.

He claims to receive hundreds of messages on his Instagram account every day asking him to come to music festivals and clubs around the world.
