Sami Deifallah does not gamble per se, at least not in the real world.
But he currently has over 2 million chips in his account with the online game Texas HoldEm Poker.
“It is a very challenging game, but it’s harmless, and I get to chat with people while playing,” the father of five said, noting that he spends most of his free time playing the online poker game.
The Facebook page of Texas HoldEm Poker ranks as the most “liked” entertainment page in Jordan, with some 608,142 fans, according to Socialbakers, a social networking analytics site.
The global number of the page’s fans stands at 70.307 million, according to the site.
Firas Yousef said he plays the online gambling game for at least three hours every day.
“I return home from work at around 9pm. I have dinner and then I start playing the game,” the 23-year-old told The Jordan Times.
The Mazraa Saida game ranked second among Facebook entertainment pages in the Kingdom, with 584,015 Jordanian fans.
Commenting on the results, Jordan Gaming Taskforce Chairman Nour Khrais said games on social networking sites always rank among the top pages globally.
“Whether it is in Jordan or elsewhere, pages of games on social networking sites are very popular…In addition, searching for games on the web ranks fifth among topics people search for on the Internet,” Khrais added.
According to www.checkfacebook.com, the number of Facebook users in Jordan currently stands at 2.587 million.
In terms of celebrity pages, the Facebook page of Lebanese singer Wael Jassar came first in this category with 319,056 fans from Jordan.
It was followed by the Facebook pages of Egyptian singer Tamer Hosny (302,861 fans), Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram (300,015 fans), Egyptian preacher Amr Khaled (294,283 fans) and Colombian singer Shakira (283,863 fans).
