The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT)

The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) is Türkiye’s national public broadcaster, established in 1964 with its first television broadcast in 1968. TRT became a founding member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in 1972 and joined the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) in 2004.

TRT operates 17 television channels—five of which are in HD—and 17 radio stations, offering diverse content including general entertainment, music, sports, children’s programming, and news. TRT broadcasts in multiple languages, including Turkish, English, Arabic, Azeri, and Kurdish. All TRT channels are regulated by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) and adhere to the European Convention on Transfrontier Television.
